Lost and Found

The Lost & Found for Wake Forest University Reynolda campus is part of the University Police Department.

We receive items almost daily from various buildings and departments throughout campus, as well as from local businesses and individuals. The items are then logged into the database as quickly as current volume allows. For answers to other questions, try our FAQ’s.

Our efforts are guided by policy and procedure for Wake Forest Reynolda campus, as well as NC statues.

We make every effort to identify and contact the owner of all property that has been turned in to us. Please be sure that your address and phone number are accurate in the University records. You can check and change your address by contacting the IS HELP DESK at 336.758.4357.

We can’t return your property unless we know how to reach you!

  1.  Where are you located?

    The University Police Department is located in the HS Moore Building, number 17 on campus maps.

  2. How long are items kept that have been turned in to the Lost & Found?

    We follow policy and procedure for NC Statues for found property turned into a police department.

  3. What happens to the items after the 120 day period?

    At the end of each quarter, items from three to six months old are transported to non-profit organizations such as Goodwill Industries.

  4. What if I lose my WFU ID card?

    Your WFU ID card will be turned over to the Deacon One office generally within 1 day.

    Lost Items Information

    Please follow these steps if you have lost an item:

    1. Retrace your steps. Where did you lose your property?
    2. Contact any buildings or areas near where you lost your property.
    3. Call the University Police at 311. Be prepared to give us the following information:
      • your name
      • your phone number where you can be contacted
      • a complete description of your lost property
      • when and where you lost your property. Please leave a message if no one is available!

    Students: Please be sure that your address and phone number are accurate with the University.

    Remember: We can’t return your property unless we know how to reach you!

    Found Item Information

    If you find someone’s property on the Reynolda Campus and are unable to return the property to the owner, take the property to the Campus Lost & Found at University Police.

    Students: Please be sure that your address and phone number are accurate with the University.

    Departments: Please call 311 to report found property. An officer needs to document the date, time and circumstances of the found property.
