Operations Manager, University Police
Melanie Hylton began her career at Wake Forest University in the Office of the Dean of the College in January 2015 and joined the University Police Department in October 2016. She is primarily responsible for assisting the Chief of Police and directing and managing the daily operations of the administrative functions in the University Police Department.
Melanie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Transportation and Logistics from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Prior to coming to Wake Forest University, she worked in various logistics roles for large manufacturing companies. Her passion for helping students lead the way for her to pursue a career in the education sector and she has had the opportunity to work for Montgomery County Public Schools, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and Surry Community College. In her free time, Melanie enjoys spending time with friends and family (especially her niece Olivia), deep sea fishing, dancing, and being a “faux” food critic.
