Cpl. Smith began his career in Law Enforcement by joining the Winston-Salem Police Department in October of 1988. In 1999, he transferred to the Alcohol Beverage Control Law Enforcement Division where he worked until 2012 when he took a position as a Patrol Officer here at the Wake Forest University Police Department. Since being at Wake Forest, he has taken on the additional duties of Bike Patrol Officer and Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Program Coordinator. In 2016, Scott was promoted to the rank of Corporal, overseeing evening Patrol Officers. Cpl. Smith is married, has two gorgeous daughters; one who is a junior at Appalachian State University studying International Marketing and the other currently in High School. When not working, he coaches his youngest daughter’s soccer team, spends time with his family at the lake water skiing, wake boarding, knee boarding, and tubing.
