The information below has been provided to the campus community about statistics that relate to crimes that have occurred on campus for the past three years as well as a daily crime log for more recent incidents.
The information below is in compliance with federal statute 20 U.S.C. § 1092(f) The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or better known as the Clery Act.
What statistics would you like to view?
Annual Crime and Fire Report – Crime and fire statistics for all WFU campuses – Annual crime reports are prepared to fulfill the requirements of Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended in 1998, the provision of an Annual Security Report as described under §668.46.
Daily Crime and Fire Log – The crime log discloses incidences occurring on Wake Forest University owned or controlled property, streets immediately contiguous to Wake Forest owned property, as well as the patrol jurisdiction of Wake Forest University Police.
Campus Security Authority – The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act final rule of November 1, 1999 designates certain members of the university community as Campus Security Authorities. This group includes but is not limited to: a dean of students who oversees student housing, a student center, or student extra-curricular activities; or a director of athletics, team coach, or a faculty adviser to a student group. The following are probably not campus security authorities: a single teaching faculty member (other than an adviser to a student group); or a physician in a campus health center or a counselor in a counseling center whose only responsibility is to provide care to students; or campus clerical staff.
Clery Missing Student – The purpose of this policy is to establish procedures for the University’s response to reports of missing students, as required by the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (“the Act”).
Emergency Alerts – Wake Forest University uses cell phone numbers of students, faculty and staff to send text alerts during an emergency.
