Awards 2010

Best Team Player

This award is given once a year for the following criteria:

  • Devotion to Duty: Through unselfish devotion to duty, has contributed significant service to the Police department and University community.
  • Leadership Abilities: Demonstrates outstanding judgment, courage, or ability in emergency situations.
  • Dealing with Co-Workers: Individual consistently displayed a positive attitude towards other department members and continuously strives to enhance the professional relationship and well being of all members.

Going the Extra Mile

This award is given once a year for the following criteria:

  • Devotion to Duty: Through unselfish devotion to duty, has contributed significant service to the Police department and University community.
  • Dealing with Co-Workers:Individual consistently displayed a positive attitude towards other department members and continuously strives to enhance the professional relationship and well being of all members.
  • Additional Responsibilities:On a regular basis, accepts additional responsibilities without complaint.

2010 Recipient – Corporal Craig Bullins

Community Policing and Commitment to Excellence

This award is given once a year for the following criteria:

  • Takes initiative in their work, often going above and beyond what is required.
  • Dedicated, aware and approaches their duties with a “can-do” attitude and a case-by-case problem-solving method that goes well beyond traditional reactionary policing.
  • Innovates effective problem-oriented policing projects to improve relationships between students, faculty and staff, assist the WFUPD in gathering information, and provide a safe environment for study and work.

Honorable Citation

This award is given once a year for the following criteria:

  • Maintaining professionalism in the face of immediate danger, always considering the safety of their co-workers and the public.
  • Exercising proactive vigilance and quick response, efficiently managing a situation both domestic and violent in nature.

Valor Award

This award is given once a year for an act of Outstanding Bravery or Heroism where the recipient demonstrates to some great degree characteristics of selflessness, personal courage and devotion to duty.
